Founded in 1888, Östermalm’s Saluhall has been named the 7th best food hall in the world. The honour was awarded in 2007 by the renowned magazine Bon Appétit. Other top contenders include food halls in Tokyo and Budapest.
Östermalm’s Saluhall gaining international recognition is nothing new. It’s featured in most guidebooks about Stockholm and has attracted tourists for over 130 years. World-famous chef Jamie Oliver naming it one of his favourite places in Stockholm is a feather in our cap – and a proof that our environment and food culture are highly valued abroad.
